Taare Zameen Par

Saw "TZP" over the weekend in Chicago. I don't recollect a good children's movie other than 1993's "Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke". The common link between those two; Aamir Khan. The "Perfectionist" is at it again taking the mantle of Producer, Director and Secondary Lead. The primary lead is of course, Darsheel Safary, who is first-class as the dyslexic 'hero' of the film. It is unbelievable to see him act the way he has. Credit must go to the director, who ALWAYS makes or breaks a film. This being AK's first film and knowing his history of "ghost-directing" most of his previous movies, you sure know this won't be run-of-the-mill crazily directed over-the-top movie. Natural performances from all who have acted in this one. Jokes are funny and sentimental scenes are worth shedding a tear or two. Ask Kirti and she will say. At one point during the movie, I saw Kirti, the female next to her and the female next to her all crying

Happy Times

Here is the second one from me. Life has been good since the last time I wrote. Kirti finally..finally got a job she deserved from a long time. It came as quite a surprise this time of the year as business is usually slow. Parents on both sides are extremely happy and satisfied after months of pain and an uncertain future looming. She moved from Atlanta to Chicago and started her job this week. I was there in Chicago to get her settled. And what a pain it was... After looking at ad after ad in numerous websites and contacting a bunch load of people, she finally settled in a nice house close to work. The weather played havoc all the days I was there trying to get an accomodation. And then there was an uneasy time as to the exact date of her start. First it was Monday. 2 days before she left Atlanta the start date was Tuesday and finally when things were all set to roll, we got to know that the start date is actually WEDNESDAY. It was like, is she ever going to start her job. It was eeri

Back in Black

So, here I am..back to a fun activity that I left couple of years ago. Last I wrote was when I had just gotten married. Lot has happened since then. Moved from Akron, Ohio in August 2006 to Chicago. And moved from Chicago in April 2007 to Minneapolis for a new job and a fresh beginning. 2006 was not the best of years I have had in recent memory. There were few bright spots in a bad year. My niece was born in New Jersey and my parents visited for 3 months. That phase of the year was quite enjoyable and memorable. That's it for the good things in 2006. This year (thankfully) has been great so far. Having a good year professionally and personally. Made some great friendships that will last a lifetime. Visited nice places with friends and had too many parties to even start counting. Went to Wisconsin Dells (Water park) for the Memorial Day Weekend, Enjoyed July 4th with some awesome fireworks and ended up in South Dakota (Mount Rushmore) for the Labor Day Weekend. In between, there we
